Two one bedroom apartments, completely renovated and tastefully decorated, in the heart of the old town of Villefranche sur Mer with lovely views of the sea.
APPARTMENTS FOR RENT
These two apartments are in the same building.
We have completely renovated and decorated each of these apartments and tried to think of every comfort while also making them fun and beautiful to live in.
These two apartments are walking distance to everything including the world renowned Institut Francais, an excellent month-long immersion language school on the hillsides of Villefranche.
In addition to the comfortable comforts, and luxury comforts, we have also provided the practical comforts: wireless DSL, fixed phone line, satellite TV, stereo systems (CD, radio, IPOD ready), DVD. And each apartment has an office or desk area that is separate from the main room where you live.

This one bedroom, one and a half bath appartment is on the top floor of this much photographed building, with cathedral ceilings, exposed 600 year old stone walls, filled with sunlight all day, and beautiful views of the bay of Villefranche and Cap Ferrat.
This apartment has a lovely dining table – an antique library table that comfortably seats 6 or 8, and can stretch to 10. On one side there is a day bed, a perfect place to curl up with a book or a glass or wine or coffee and read, plan your days, or just stare out at the lovely views of the old town or the sea. Or enjoy the two lovely, cushioned window seats where you are perched 'on the rooftops' to enjoy the view, the sunshine and the sights and sounds of the old town from this privileged perch.
The artwork, all original, is mostly from Villefranche and Sicilian artists, with also an American impressionist artist and a Nepali artist. The lighting, one of our passions, is romantic and fun to enjoy – all on dimmers. Plus great reading lights in the right places. The two sleeping areas: master bedroom with ensuite bathroom and living room with half bath, are separate at night. The master bedroom has a queen sized bed, lovely white cotton linen (down duvets in the winter, foam and down pillows), two night stands with good reading lights, lovely art, lots of closet space, a comfortable chair and a lovely window looking onto one of the old town streets. Ideal for a couple but 4 can be accommodated due to the separate sleeping areas and sofa bed. |
This first floor, is a one bedroom, open floor plan apartment (bedroom doesn't have 4 walls around it), a bathroom that includes a large stall shower and a vanity with excellent storage and light. There is a very nice office and a great balcony that overlooks one of the prettiest streets in the old town and the sea. This artist's view looks down this old-world scene, of old ladies hanging out the windows watching the day go by cheerily singing 'bonjour', cats precariously sleeping on window sills 5 stories up, colorful Italian-style village buildings curving down the street all the way to the sea – it's hard to believe it isn't a stage set. Real people actually live here. It's great.
The apartment's décor is a bit 'hip' I guess you would say – and eclectic. Great lighting, as in all our apartments, fun art, but most of it not original – but it works together and is fun. We get a lot of comments on it. The space is open and comfortable and filled with sunshine from morning through afternoon. The balcony is filled with flowering plants and herbs. And the lighting is great. The bedroom has a queen sized bed, lovely white cotton linen (down duvets, foam and down pillows), two night stands with reading lights, and lovely art and lighting. The bathroom is off the bedroom area and this area is quite private from the main room as it is a step above and behind the kitchen wall. There is also a sofa bed (double bed) but the two sleeping areas are open to each other. It is suitable for a couple with a child or two single people travelling together. It is, however, ideal for a couple. |
VILLEFRANCHE SUR MER TOURIST INFORMATION
We love the lifestyle and the multitude of things to do. Walking, sightseeing, eating great food, enjoying great wine, swimming, sunshine, interesting culture, interesting people. It has it all. Visit Nice, the old town, the Promenade des Anglais, the great shopping and beautiful architecture.
Visit the many interesting and unique towns and villages -- all with great things to offer: Antibes, Cannes, Grasse, Biot, Vallauris, Monaco, Eze, St. Paul de Vence. Or visit Italy, go for lunch to a hill top village there, visit a market or a coastal town -- just 30 minutes away. Even Provence is only 1.5 hours away. Or get up into the Alps - the Riviera is where the Alps plunge into the sea. Beautiful hiking and stunning scenery.
How to get Villefranche sur Mer
Nice Cote d'Azur airport is 15 kilometers away, a 20 minute drive. You don't need a car if you visit Villefranche - everything is walking distance and public transport is superb.BOOKING INFORMATION
